I firmly believe that everyone carries a compelling story within them, and I'm dedicated to empowering and encouraging others to leverage theirs. My professional journey in education spans various roles, from high school college advisor, university counselor for student support services, and presently, the director of a student center at a prominent public institution. As a counselor and advocate, I have had the opportunity to meet with individuals from various complex diverse backgrounds and experiences and guide them to meet their goals. The most rewarding aspect of my work is listening to the stories of my students. Their experiences often are threaded with resilience, perseverance, resourcefulness, and strength. Despite barriers and challenges we may face in life, one thing I know for sure, is that our unique stories are what give us power. Considering my background, experience, and the confidence embedded in my family name (Myers - my father’s surname and Story - my mother’s maiden name), I aim to support others in sharing their story.
